What is Agility?

Agility means teamwork!

Agility, one of the best-known and most popular dog sports, requires both humans and dogs to be physically and mentally fit at the same time. Agility is not only an excellent way for fast, agile and spirited German Shepherds to “work off” excess energy, it also trains their coordination skills. The dog sport also strengthens the bond between dog owner and pet, as trust and wordless communication are emphasised here.

Agility means “mobility”, which is exactly what is required here when it comes to the agility course: a course consists of various obstacles that the dog has to overcome, cross or run through. The most common elements of an agility course are: Walls, hurdles, sloping wall, catwalk, seesaw, table jump or long jump, tunnel, tyre and slalom.
